Ok so is T'pol [on enterprise] the same person who is an ambassodor on the Next Generation? Is she Spock's grandmother?

I'm pretty sure no relationship between T'Pol and any other Vulcan familiar to us has ever been revealed.

Yes. I must have. In a way I think it would make her character more interesting if she was the one and the same. But like everything in that show it's not.

You're welcome, NS! Yeah, it would be interesting if T'Pol were more closely tied with the older series, but it's been pretty clear that the Enterprise folks don't want to be bound too much by continuity issues.

I remember from the run-up to Enterprise, even before the 'Broken Bow' script was available on-line, there was talk of putting T'Pau in the Star Trek prequel series. Later, the producers and writers decided against this, to allow them more leeway with the character.

Actually, I believe early on in the development of Enterprise T'Pol was T'Pau, but the producers decided to change things later.
