Star Wars: Boba Fett - TV Series in 2006?

My main worry about a StarWars TV series is truely being able to capture the universe and characters. The large amount of aliens, spaceships and various locations. A StarWars TV series would need more variety of locations than any other SciFi series I can think of.

If it happens... it'll probably be worth watching just to go 'ooh' at the pretty colours. If they can pull off good stories and characters, that's just icing* (or perhaps it's the cake, buried under a landslide of icing that has come to resemble a main course of fudge more than an accessory to the nominal course of cake... actually, that's a good analogy for Star Wars in recent years, isn't it?).

I'd also place tenuous bets on it being filmed somewhere in the South Pacific. My New Zealand has been showcased in plenty of things recently, and Australia's made a good showing in the vaguely Wars-esque Farscape (and, I believe, was where much of EpIII was shot).

Or you could go the route of special-effects-laden Stargate SG1 and film it all in Canada. LucasFilm would have no problems selling Toronto as Mos Eisley, I betcha. It's what they do.

*Icing = frosting in some dialects of English. Sweet sugary stuff you smear on cakes.

I could and would hope it would be awesome. But, I believe that Lucas or other powers that be would make the show less violent than it "should" be.

Y'know, after reading what the spy had to say on AICN, at no point does he say Boba will be the star of the show. He does say "one of the series' villans we love to hate" is Boba Fett, and that he'll "feature significantly" in the series. I wouldn't take that to mean that this is gonna be "It's Boba Fett's Show!" or something like that.

Given that they make him out to be the villain, I could see this being a show about Jedi. I mean really, how could they have a SW show that doesn't showcase robed guys with lightsabers?

My thoughts exactly. I'd guess it's probably about fugitive Jedi in the Rise of the Empire era (i.e. between Eps 3 and 4).

Hmmmm. Good point. It certainly does say that the Fett will be one of the villains. Works for me. I totally read it wrong it looks like.

It would have to have some Jedi in it at the very least. If Boba is going to be there and we know he hates Jedi we'll have to see him taking some of them out. I'm even more excited about this now. I hope they make it happen.

Can't have Boba shot first, LOL ;).

I think a star wars series could be cool. I never really got into the Boba Fett character though, he was sort of cool but all the fan obsession with him kinda sunk his coolness into the basement for me. No offense whisperfoot :p .

Either your Geek-fu is very weak, or you meant Nar Shaada, 'cause I couldn't see Toronto being made to pass for Mos Eisley in a million years. Parts of Nar Shaada, perhaps, but not Mos Eisley. :P
