At the SWRPG seminar at Gen Con, as reported by www.swrpgnetwork.com, it was mentioned as having been talked about (as all the remaining era sourcebooks have).

Excellent!!

Though I don't much enjoy the Tales of the Jedi version of the Republic myself, it's irksome that WotC failed to capitalize on the release of Knights of the Old Republic OR Star Wars Galaxies.

I totally agree. The release of this product (and the anticipation surrounding it) was no surprise. They should have been working with Bioware from the beginning on a rules supplement. I'm sure the Star Wars d20 fan/customer base would have grown significantly.

They really need to put out a Knights of the Old Republic setting book. Has anyone been harping WotC about that? Anybody asked and had a reply?

They do this and I will bust my dusty SW book off the shelf and dish up some games. I don't like the rebellion era for RPing. I have the same problem playing LotR during the War of the Ring.

I don't much either; the comics I've read from that era lack the Star Wars feel. However, KotOR certainly feels like Star Wars, just in another time frame. In fact, it does so at least as much as the prequels do, IMO.

We know that an Old Republic Era Sourcebook (25,000-1,000 BBY) is at least under consideration, just as a New Republic Era Sourcebook (5-25 ABY) is, and the Rise of the Empire Era Sourcebook (1,000-0 BBY, and surely the priority) is almost certainly in the works.

Pardon my ignorance, but what does BBY/ABY stand for?

Before the Battle of Yavin/After the Battle of Yavin (Episode IV).

Some major events and Expanded Universe eras:

1,000 BBY: Jedi destroy Sith; Darth Bane goes into hiding
32 BBY: Episode I; Battle of Naboo
22 BBY: Episode II; Battle of Geonosis
19 BBY: Episode III
0: Episode IV; Battle of Yavin
3: Episode V; Battle of Hoth
4: Episode VI; Battle of Endor

25,000-1,000 BBY: Old Republic era -- the Republic as largely depicted in the Tales of the Jedi comics
1,000-0 BBY: Rise of the Empire era -- the Republic of George Lucas's vision
0-5 ABY: Rebellion era
5-25 ABY: New Republic era -- Bantam novels and some WEG sourcebooks
25+ ABY: New Jedi Order era
