Star Wars Miniature's info...

Yeah, odd that they are going for the rebellion-era figures when the RPG has tended to pushed the Rise-era more. I suppose there are a lot of Rise-era action figures already available which could be considered as competition to some degree.

Frankly, I suspect that the Rebellion era is far more attractive to potential buyers.

Which is cooler, Stormtroopers and Rebels or Clones/Battle Droids?

I'm surprised there will just be one set of Rebellion minis. There's a ton of background material for all sorts of troops - snowtroopers, sandtroopers, spacetroopers, swamptroopers. And you could fill an entire set just with ewoks.

I'd rather paint up my own Owl Bear than spend tons of cash trying to get one randomly or by paying through the nose for one.

And pray tell, where are you going to get an owlbear mini that isn't one of these?

Chainmail. It may be out of print, but there are still lots of unopened boxes floating around. Just put in a search-notify on eBay, and you'll see owlbears popping up quite a bit.

Are you serious? Buddy, they've been making Owl Bears since long before most of the folks on this board have been playing; do a few searches and you'll fall across them. Sure, not a ton of 'em, and the quality varies, but there are *very* few minis that they are making in this plastic stuff that someone else hasnt already done at least a reasonable facimile of. Just look around, check out Chainmail, Reaper, the old Grenadier/Partha stuff, and a few others.

And anyway, where do you think the majority of sculpts came from anyway? A good portion of the new plastic stuff is from the same, or slightly modified, sculpts from their Chainmail and previous D&D lines. Plenty of new ones, sure, but many of them are the same old stuff just rehashed in bendy plastic with 4 eye-popping colors each :).
