Cal has probably shifted about 15 to 30 meters to the left, assuming he could get down the stairwell. He is sticking to the shadows and moving slowly, if possible.

Spoilers:

-Ohh, yeah, showing the droids... that's a bit of a plot-hole. You can only rationalise it with a 'for some reason' correction, like Leia, as a teen princess forgot to bring them along and so text her bff Raddus and was like, "heyyyy, lol, forgot my droids, can you grab them for me and we'll meet half-way?" Then Raddus was like, "Ehhh, fiiine", then he gets another text from her and she's like "Ummm, you know how you keep telling me to check the oil levels? Well, we're out of oil, can't meet you halfway LOL! Soz!" Raddus just thinking to himself 'why do I even? She'd better be grateful after this.... But she never mentions ons him... Damn teenagers with their new fangled things! They've got no respect for fish people these days!

I hadn't considered the issue about how the Tantive IV gets aboard. I agree it works, but now we we have a gap in the continuity that needs an official explanation outside of the movie. Ohh...

Well, the transports would have been there because they may not have known about the planetary shield. But then in order to protect his transports, or to just use them as intended, I would have thought one of Raddus's primary objectives would have been taking out the planetary defence shield early on. Either do that or send the transports away as they're canon fodder otherwise.
Shayuri I'm not disagreeing with you. One or two little bits and pieces requiring Extensive Universe knowledge would have added flavour, but too many becomes confusing.

Unfortunately, like using the bumbling bureaucrat as a plot tool piñata to make other characters look cooler, whilst justifyable, the claw scene may have only been designed the way it was so they could (MAJOR SPOILER) separate K2SO from the others and kill him off with overwhelming numbers.

A sit-down would have been nice.

I still personally loved the movie, but yeah, I agree there were too many gaps in the continuity of the story. That's the correct term. Not plot holes so to speak (excluding R2 and 3PO's location jump), but gaps. It's a shame this hurt the movie for others.
