I'm not sure I have the right image in my head, GK, but I'm seeing the elevator shafts as clustered in the center of the pit with radial gangways anchoring them to the sides? If so, it should be possible to take the next one over and fire *back* at the mine wall, right? That's what the "next elevator over" bit is about.

Its probably just me describing it poorly...

The mine pit is about 80 meters across/wide. There is a spiral stone/carved out road that goes down along the pit wall. There are 3 evenly spaced elevator lifts that are attacked with metal scaffolding (so as not to block the 'road'). The elevators are kind of large to hold up to a dozen miners or extra gear

The closes elevator lift is the one where all the miners have fled out of. The one that is not working is about 40 meters away (due to the curve of the pit) and is 40 meters down. It will take Jihahna two rounds to run over to the control access for that elevator lift.

Make a bit more sense? I think I might try a map

Do the scaffoldings project out from the lip of the pit (to a vertical elevator shaft)?

Yes they do. They attach to the pit wall. The lifts each have a "landing" door that drops down so that the miners can get on and off (walk across).

Perfect. The gand and Targo will try to use the nearest scaffolding to get an angle of fire on the spiders presently below the rim wall.
