We know approximately when it's set, probably somewhere between 250-130 years before ANH, depending on how old Vernestra Rwoh is in it (a Jedi with a particularly ridiculous whip-lightsaber).

Just came across some publicity stuff giving her age in the Acolyte as 116. Evidently her species is longer lived than humans.

Isn't most of this period kinda untouched? High Republic era is new territory. I guess they'll manage to work in a few references, though.
