So I recently picked myself up a copy of Starcraft: The Boardgame. Seems pretty cool. Lots of figures, and the place order mechanic is a very interesting way of mixing turns and reducing the normal downtime that comes with these type of wargames. I tried out a solo run (yes, I'm that lame)... Some of the special victory conditions seem a heck of a lot easier than others.
Tassadar's condition is just to occupy more territories than any of the other players. In a 2 player game, that's not all that hard to do for one round. The Queen of Blades needs to build three bases on three different planets. Well, each player gets two planets right off the bat. So, if you don't have 2 bases, you're losing. And you can build bases on planets with other players. So, you could fulfill this condition on the first game turn. Mobilize, Build Base. Mobilize, Build Base. (Of course, you have to wait for Stage 3 to win, but you get the idea. Kind of easy to do).
Some people I've seen online think the easy victory conditions are a good thing. They lead to a very quick, aggressive game that's for certain. I'm less certain, but it definitely seems like a fun way to waste a couple of hours... I'm liking it from what I've seen so far.
Anybody else have it? And/or have opinions on what they've seen?
