Huh - what about these?
"Pack your bags....." - O'Neill, Season 8 finale final scene.
Carter? On the Daedelus? Makes sense. Take the ZPM along with Daniel to get a real good look at Atlantis, copy the monster Ancient database and take it back to earth. Teal'c is busy with Jaffa stuff and O'Neill retires while Carter is gone. They'll finally hook up when she returns, but he'll be in the background (since RDA is taking off). Oh and once in Atlantis with a juicy ZPM, gating back to Earth is totally an option.
The "Daedelus saves the day option" seems pretty obvious, particularly in getting Shepherd out of his jam. I don't think there will be any Asgard though. They made it seem like the new ship was more than capable. Oh and anyone think about that fact the Daedelus may STAY?? That little extra protection for Atlantis, especially once they lose the ZPM to power the engines it may take them a while to get home.....but who knows.
As for the Jaffa and the Goua'uld, I don't think they are gone just yet. Sure, the Jaffa are no longer listening to the Goua'uld, but what about Bhaal and the super-soldiers? Anubis was defeated, but Bhaal pretty much left him out to dry. Others are still out there and there are plenty of Unas yet to enslave. They could take a while to get rid of totally, and there are enough loose ends that it makes for good Teal'c subplots. I suspect we'll see the Goua'uld, but in very limited doses.
As for Atlantis, I heard there were to be FEWER major characters, with some getting "demoted" to part-timers (Lt. Ford). I haven't heard much of SG-1, but with a major shift in the cast, new characters should be expected.
On some other tangents - I certainly would like to know more about the Nox, though elaborating on the Furlings would be OK too. I just don't want too many new races introduced that are major players. It's more than enough that they are "getting" the ancient tech and history. There's plenty of good stuff to chew on there. And I certainly want more depth to the Wraith - abberations or not, lets get horrid with these beasties.
Oh and I think the new Col. guy got gacked in his last scene. You won't see him anymore.
Well, my thoughts ran dry - for now.....
