Just an update from out here in publisher-land~

AEG has acquired the rights to do a Stargate SG-1 RPG, using the Spycraft system. It will be a stand alone book, but fully compatible with the existing Spycraft line. The Spycraft Espionage Handbook will not be required to play (though it will naturally add more options for GMs and players interested in groups like the NID).

We should be seeing a formal anouncement shortly, along with serveral routes by which interested fans of the show can have more than ordinary impact on this game ...

Yes, it's true boys and girls. We've been working on the Stargate roleplaying game for some time now. Morgenstern (Scott Gearin) and I are two of the book's authors. Man, it's good to finally be able to say we're working on this!

YES!!! Oh man is that going to be great! You guys did such a wonderful job with Spycraft; I can't wait to see the Stargate SG-1 adaptation!

One question: new core classes? Obviously the Soldier is making the move, but what about the others? A Scientist class for Daniel Jackson and some of Major Carter's levels?

Very cool. I can NOT wait to see this one!

Any idea when this may be coming out? I have run a Spycraft game, and I think this is the next non-D&D game I want to run. :-)

there goes my work....

Darn... there goes my job. I am already halfway done creating a Stargate D20 module. Now i have to find anything else to do at night. :(

i was also basing it on Spycraft...unfortunately i could only do it fanbased, no publishing, so i am kinda glad AEG aquired the rights (man i contacted MGM more then a year ago, with this idea!!!) now it means we can see it a a HC or SC!.

anyway..little dissapointed, but also a little happy.

This... is... AWESOME!!! I've been lazily putting together rules for my own SG game, but I haven't finished it yet...

Morgenstern, I take it you're going to put out a preview before you release? I'm sure you can't really discuss it right now, so I won't ask a bunch of questions... :)

At this point, I anticipate the Soldier class will transition to SG-1 with minimal changes (some formatting refinements, but the same class abilites). There will definitely be some new base classes, with Scientist firmly carving out a place for itself in the text. I've seen some of Don Mappin's world text, and it is an excellent introduction to the show as well as a fine blueprint both for new mechanics and a resource for GMs setting up their own campaigns.

There will likely be some additions to our already formidable playtesting team, but I don't want to artificically inflate hopes- competition will be fierce. We are also looking at substantial web support and a fan-friendly online community. Fan submissions for worlds, races, and whole adventures will have an official showcase and staging area on the website.

More news as it becomes availible, and thank you for the support. This book is going to rock :D!

Fine, I missed the STARGATE boat -- but get a scientist clas, which makes me giddy.

You don't let me work on any Pulp Spycraft concepts, though, and I will hunt you down ... I have an agent and stuff, you know. They do my bidding. I have minions.

Minions who wouldn't return my call if I weren't their client, but minions nonetheless.

Hey Kenpo Wolf :),

Glad you found this thread so quickly. Knowing your past enthusiasm for the project (I do read these boards almost daily), I figured I'd track you down personally and send the news :).

(If you didn't know already :p)
