Stargate campaign

Its not on top just on the side over looking over the valley. It is there because the System Lord is a god of sun of sorts and he used to visit this place in the morning with the rising sun (the gate is east of the village so the sun rises behind the gate and mountain). So, they believe he is responsible for the rising sun.
Plus you have all those lines to use, "came down from the mountain', 'decended from heaven'. ;) If the system lord has a time table to visit the planet, the sun could be a location so the shadow of the stargate falls 'around' the village, aka a holiday event.

Ya, there are many great godly like lines and symbolism to come from it.

So, how far from normal System Lord behavior do you think one can go and still keep them System Lords? Mosr of them were rather short sighted and didn't realizer the threat the humans pose or believe themselves to be vulnerible. I want a villian with more of a learning curve.

Well, one thing to consider is how much of a System Lord are they. There are minor lords, and pretty galaxy-spanning powerful ones. System Lords control one or more systems.

If a given System Lord was particularly bright, at least at recognizing and heading off threats, you'd expect he would be either a rising star or a recognized, and slapped down, future threat.

Furthermore, a System Lord to quick to see danger from the mere humans might be letting the God-Mask slip a little. It might be interesting if you had one that was secretly a little less arrogant- maybe just Toc'rah arrogance. At least on the inside.

There's a thought. Go'auld have their personality imprinted by their mother/queen. Batches are probably very similar. But there must be more than one queen. The Toc'rah queen was arguably insane by Go'auld standards, she practically had a good alignment, afterall.

Yu, one of my favorite System Lords, seems like the most perceptive of the lot. He was pretty old, maybe he was even from an earlier model/batch.

I'm rambling here. Basically, the System Lords which deviate from the norm are usually notable for that. As long as you consider why or what it means you're fine. The main limits on behavior really amount to the collective will of the System Lords- there are some things no individual will be allowed to get away with.

That is an interesting idea, one could even make a third type of the race. Perhaps ones from different queens hate each other and must seek to destroy the other colonies kinda like ants.

And from the wierd department Stargate finds Alpha Complex. We have seen it before with the planet that was inhabitible but their was the one city with the protective shield that was slowly failing and everyone's memories were latered to forget the ones that die. I might save that for like my second season or something but I think I could do a serious visit to alpha Complex.

Remember, however, that those alternative sights are meant to be semi-secret. So you wouldn't want to directly dial the planets you explore from there. You'd probably travel by way of Earth allies.

Better yet, the missions might be related to the ongoing alliance with various worlds. The Beta or Alpha site teams focuses on keeping tabs on these friends and solving some of their problems- which sometimes leads to bigger missions than expected.

I know you just said you had it almost planned out. It was such a good idea my brain ran with it a bit :)

Hmm. Or maybe a Ceta-Sight, which is used as a base for undercover ops that can't be readily traced to Earth. That's if you want to emphasize the spy game over diplomacy.

dont forget the russians had the gate for a bit and traded it to sgc for a ship and money ect ect... and allso dont forget the cia black opp's had a rouge gate program where the teams went out to get all tech they could at any cost!!!! so from those examples u really dont have to be a sg team!!

Wow, this takes me back. The campaign started well but didn't sustain itself I'm sorry to say. WE had some good characters though :D

that sucks! im looking to start a new game with a group by where i live!!

one of the angles is that if my party has a linguist he have to solve problems in real time...

here is the situation !! the translator has a box with ancient writings on it . now the box has writen "indeo clavia" wich mean's in ancient "need key" now i would have had giving the linguest a bunch of words that he knew the translations to. he prob would have the ancient word for key but not need . and would gain the word need if he solves the meaning.ok back to the game. ok the linguest lets say his name is daniel lol... says to his squad he has what looks like a transporter device that has the word key on it. now they all might not hear him seing they are probally defending from a attack from some sort of attack. hopefully the player might share the info allso that he needs a key like thing to make it work so the team can escape. if he shares this info, all players can make a check around the room for a key like device wich grately increases the chance of noticing the key like crystal sticking out from a controll consul, ohh did i mention the ancient ruins lol!!!! hopefully the team pulls this off all in time before getting killed and use the key on the box and transport to safetie!!!!!
xp for everyone lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!
