OK, here are the stats for Jim Anderson.

STR 12
DEX 14
CON 7
INT 14
WIS 13
CHA 13

Unfortunately, this is the first time I've used the Roll Stats screen & I didn't realize that I wouldn't be given the separate rolls. That means that I haven't been able to add the spare roll for CON. Now, with a 7, the best the 4th roll could have been was a 2 (3,2,2,2), which means that the amended CON stat would be an 8 or a 9.

What do you want me to do, bilwar? You can probably tell that I'm leaning away from a combat role with this character. I still have to check out all the possible classes but I'm wondering if an academic (sorry, Ilium) might work. Shades of Daniel Jackson, of course, but a linguist or an archaeologist or anthropologist would be fun.

It seems several players want to play similar character types: I would like to play an archeologist/historian aka Indiana Jonesish expert. Something based off of Colonel Jackson but with the Indy/Han Solo flair/edge. I would like the character to have experience with the Atlantis project as well. WIll the campaign use the source material from both shows?

Are the adventures/campaign going to have a wide variety of themes-ranging from exploration, intrigue, tactical& strategic combat, dialogue etc.-I don't want to play an archeologist/historian if the whole campaign will be based on combat.

I'm more than willing to do something different. I've played the techno-nerd before so I'd be up for more of a butt kicker. Maybe somebody who's basically assigned for security/bodyguard duty, and has no clue about all this alien tech and political nonsense. I kind of like that, actually.

Well in that case, I'd be happy to pick up techno-geek and drop archaeologist. In that case, I'd switch the dump stat from CON to CHA.

I think I'd play him as fairly naive, obsessed with his technology, not really sure what was going on around him but Wow! This alien technology is really cool! Oh, and hetalksreallyreallyfastlikethis. ;)

And while you're at it you could have him idolize a member of SG1! :p

I'm a fan of Stargate but I haven't been watching it lately. Also I don't know anything about D20 Modern, so I probably would be a pain as a player. This is a cool idea though.

Ah, if you know D&D, then D20 Modern isn't much of a stretch. Just take a look at the SRD I linked above.

Has anybody heard from bilwar? I hope he hasn't abandoned this idea.

I'd be happy to make either a command-type character (headed toward field officer prestige class), or a combat medic type character. The second would be fairly easy, since I've already got a level 10 character that I could degenerate.
