Stargate SG-1/Atlantis 7-14 *Season Premier*

The SG universe has completely jumped the shark. The Ori ships have proven themselves to be invulnerable to anything that any existing race can throw at them, and the destruction of the Orion forecloses the possibility to developing anytihng even remotely useful in the near future (though probably even ancient tech wouldn't do much).

The only way that the Ori can evern be harmed is by finding some crazy McGuffin such as the holy grail or what not. The annoying thing is that we have to wait through several years of one step forward, two steps back before reaching that inevitable conclusion.

The Ori ships are nasty. But Atlantis was a lot more fun for me than SG-1 this week.

What suprised me was the ships that ended up getting toasted. In the threads for the season finales I'm sure everyone thought the American ship took the lethal, based on who was on board. It's really too bad cause I liked the Russian leader.

Then, in Atlantis, the Orion gets whacked. I suppose I can see why, they want to keep things tense, having to rely on just 1 ship, but you'd think the Orion warships would fair better. I guess it all came down to the shield being down.

I was hoping to see what would happen if an Ori ship was rammed. I was also hoping it would be a spectacular explosion on both sides. Eh, maybe there's some hidden damage...(fat chance :\ )

What I really want to know is the time line for these two episodes. The presense of Picardo and Beau in both seems to tell me they occur in a similar time frame, but both conveniently do not mention troubles that Earth/Atlantis are having to the other.

Actually in Atlantis they did mention the Ori threat and that was the reason they could not send any ships from earth to deal with the hive ships.

I enjoyed the shows. Though Ronin's character on Atlantis is getting on my last nerve. I am sick of his "Let me kill Michael please" everytime Michael and he are in the same room.

Was it me, or did they mention that someone ringed out and some others beamed out of the Koralev?

Update: Just watched it and they said that 6 beamed out and one ringed out. I'm assuming none of the beam-outs were the Russian commander as they would have pointed it out.
I'm actually fearing the possible "bio-weapon" angle they may try to use as a means to put the Ori on the defensive. I'm hoping they end up reintroducing the Furlans or someone else they've used in the past without further plundering those angles. Maybe remember their own developed history perhaps.
