Stargate SG-1 {Spoiler Talk} 18.03.05

Meh. This episode really turned me off. We get no explanation of Daniel's miraculous rebirth (for the second time), whip out the time travel card right away and, of course, something goes wrong.

Did you miss last week's episode?

He died, he had a chance to ascend, he refused, and the Ancients put him back after he tied up a rather irritating loose end for them.

And this time travel bit is a setup for next season, and the result of forshadowing once this season in SG-1 and twice in Atlantis.

Good episode, and if they keep up the kind of quality into the next season then I really do think they'll be fine, even with the cast changes.

What cast changes?

Spoiler:
I know Ben Browder is coming aboard, but other than that, I hadn't heard of anyone leaving.

Regarding cast changes, I'm told that Amanda Tapping will only be in about half the episodes next season, on account of being pregnant. Also, SGC will be run by someone played by Beau Bridges - not sure if Jack gets promoted or whatnot, but he's not likely to be in even as many episodes as he was this season.

I did, but I miss about half of them so I didn't notice.

What was the forshadowing about?

Cheers
Nell.
Who thinks Dominar Rygel would do a great job running the Stargate program.

Jack's supposed to get promoted again from what I've heard.

I'm really not sure HOW the timetravelling thing is going to foreshadow new cast members since Jack is supposed to be promoted...that hints that things get fixed in the timeline.

You did notice. You complained about Daniel's miraculous recovery, when he had half of a 90-minute episode just on that fact alone.

In SG-1 awhile back, they found an Atalantian puddle jumper with a time travel device.

in SG-Atlantis, they have puddle jumpers, and there was a time-loop wherein Dr. Weir was sent, by the time-travel pod, back some several thousand years, then came foward and kept the city from being crushed by thousands of years of water.

Not to mention that everyone and their brother is looking for a ZPM.

The one thing I hate is that I've finally gotten back into SG-1. Up to until about 4 or 5 episodes ago, I just watched to see what happened but nothing else. But a few episodes ago, once they actually left the base, it got really, really good again and I was excited about the next episode. And now it's off until summer after next episode. :(

Err, no, Kesh complained. I didn't notice.

Cheers,
Nell.

Hmmm, besides all the nitpickers...:p , I was quite stunned at the time change.

Daniel was great at as a 'teacher'

Carter...err, was...:o , ah...*beautiful geekness rules*

Jack, was just Jack...in any time line.
