Starship miniatures?

Speaking of Silent Death (RIP?) is it just me or do those em4 minis look like they're from Silent Death.

In any case, allow me to just say, hurrah for plastic minis. Because lets face it, they work just as good as game pieces so long as you don't like, step on them.

Check your local toy store for micromachines or similar branches. There were micromachine Starwars and Startrek "miniatures", and they also seemed to have some "generic" ships.

The old Star Frontiers game had two boxes of starship minis and three or four boxes of character minis. In addition, they sold individual starships in blister packs. They are still regularly available on Ebay.

The starships aren't great, but they do make combat easier if you have nothing else.

Be aware that these boxed sets (especially those that are 'still in the shrinkwrap') are about 20 years old. I bought a character mini boxed set about six months ago, and even though it was still in the shrink, the minis had serious corrosion. I didn't have that problem with the starships boxed sets, but the starship minis had been primed.

A list of the ones I have found most useful:

I don't know where you are, but:

Generation X Comics
239 North Industrial
Bedford, Texas
(817) 540-5556

Has the following companies/lines with minis that either are or could be used for starships

Starfleet Battles
Babylon 5
Battletech/Aerotech
DreamPod 9
Silent Death
Crimson Skies
CAV

The guy who was working there today also mentioned that Games Workshops had 2 lines that had starships in them- Epic and Gothic.

You may also find something in I-Kore's Void line.
