Thanks. Didn't have my DMG next to me and I was revising my HeroForge so I could add equipment easier.

[sarcasm] Ask anyone (but me) here and they'll tell ya' that those numbers don't mean anything. Just start your players off with whatever you want. [/sarcasm]

[sarcasm] Yeah. I definately think that 4,000,000gp should do it. Though that might be a little chincy, so you might go for 5,000,000. That would at least give them a meager start. [/sarcasm]

*laugh*

Had a player that would come out with the oddest things. 8th level and he had +3 frostbane swords and cloaks of resistance +4 and whatnot. Just the most expensive things a person could have. We created 1st level characters and he had more mundane items than could be imagined that he had on a mule. We figured his gp value was about 4 to 5 times the recommended amount.

I still laugh.

DM - Okay you spot the Orcs approaching.

Us - Okay lets just hide and avoid this potential battle

Him - What am I going to do with my mule?

DM - YOU HAVE A MULE?

Him - Yeah.

DM - 5 Sessions and you have had a mule this whole time?

[sarcasm] I just had an even better idea. Since how much wealth you have doesn't matter, let the players choose how much they start with, and since it really doesn't matter how much they have, don't ask them to tell you. I mean, hey, if it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter. [/sarcasm]

Bitter, are we?

Geoff.
