Stat Generation (update posted)

Hey!

Thanks! Very slick!

While I programmed a little in the days of yore, I don't do Java & HTML, so I thought I'd throw this out:

Anyone (including Drawmack) want to alter it to calculate the total Mod Bonus and place it at the bottom of the stat column? I'm not sure how often that's used by other people, but WotC does list it as a reason to throw out a set of scores in the 3.0 PHB (not sure about 3.5e). I tend to use that as a guideline to make sure the PCs are fairly even, usually I pick a total Mod and allow any character that is close to that (like a range of Mod -1 to Mod +1). It'd be even cooler if there was the option to throw out sets with a total Mod score outside of a range I could choose (but I'm not greedy, just hopeful! :p).

Even without these tweaks it's a very nice thing to have, Drawmack, thanks again! I like the fact I can email this to any computer I use (and to my players) and have nearly a 100% chance of running it anywhere!

I have filed these as possible upgrades. I'm not sure they'll make it into the system as public demand will decide what I add and what I don't

That was kind of why I did it. I don't have internet access from my laptop which is what I use when gaming and to do most of my design work. However I'm looking at rapid development of some tools for my own use so I'm building this little suite. Though future programs added to the suite will use multiple files they'll be packed into a zip that will make it very easy to install them.

If you like this app head over to the software forum and vote on my next utility.

It does not do in order but I could put that in as a future upgrade. Currently it sorts them highest to lowest. It's the easiest way to throw away the low rolls and sets. As they simply fall off the end of the array.

On my other thread in the computers and software forum I am asking for suggestions about number crunchers to add to this suite.

The first request that I got was to implement the point buy system as well. This has been done and the new file is attached to this post.

Unfortunately to keep defelopment manageable installation has gotten a bit more difficult. Here are the instructions.

Step 1) Download the zip file
Step 2) Using a program that maintains directory structure (like winzip) unzip this file.
Step 3) Note that this process creates a sub-directory called RPOES in whatever directory you unzip the file to
Step 4) Inside of the RPOES Directory you'll see a file named index.htm, create a shortcut to that file on your desktop
Step 5) Double click the new icon
Step 6) enjoy the programs.
