Status of Edge of the Empire?

snip I thought the production values where great and it had some interesting ideas, I've always found it kinda clunky in play. snip
Agree. I tried to run the Rebellion starter (with the remains of a Pathfinder group that kind of dissolved), but the players just didn't get into the narrative "explain how they succeed" part of dice rolls and were content with math rocks addition and subtraction.

Beautiful books though.

I liked the worldbuilding of the series, especially since it included modern additions to the setting, like the various TV series and Rogue One. The last Star Wars game was back in just the prequel movies.

They did release a starter kit that included some stuff from The Force Awakens, as well as a few sourcebooks covering different time periods. Dawn of Rebellion has some Rogue One material (as well as Rebels). A couple of books covered the prequel era as well. They never got deep in the sequel trilogy, though.

But weirdly it ran oit of steam just as Disney Star Wars began to gather steam: most Stsr Wars now by running time is Disney+ shows, and no supplements for that.

Well, they actually are publishing thst now, Genesys material for the Twilight Imperium boardgames universe, which Asmodee owns outright:

And a Genesys version of Lovecraftian horror with Arkham Horror:

And a few others, like Midnight.

Just a note that the Arkham Horror RPG doesn't use Genesys but a D6 dice-pool system.

Yeah, I'm actually rather disappointed by that. Genesys is my favorite system, and I think it could work very well for horror. As it stands, I think the system for Arkham Horror RPG is fine, but it doesn't excite me to play the same way Genesys does.

AH uses a simple d6 system rather than the real horror of special dice like in EOTE.
As an aside it is the most goodness filled starter set I have seen, and I own lots of StSets

It's definitely full of high quality components, maps, and handouts, but I think more playtesting could have gone into it before release. For one thing, they may have realized that they forgot to include a pretty important rule in the starter set, that PCs can only make one attack per weapon each round. (Apparently, that's something the developers mentioned on their Discord.)

For another, combat can become tedious with NPCs that can take injuries. The ghoul priest needs to take at least 5 injuries before he can be killed, and even then there's only a 1 in 6 chance he'll die that round. In the game I ran, he ended up taking enough injuries that the penalties to his rolls made it literally impossible for him to even hit the PCs with his attacks, but he still wouldn't die. (I called the combat there rather than making my players slog through it.)

I haven't run beyond the first act, so I don't know if other problems pop up. All I know is that I'm not planning to pick up the full game at this point.

This may be a silly question, but how do I buy their products?

I'm not seeing a way to add items to a cart.
Legend of the 5 Rings looks interesting.
