Don't you mean just under one square wide?
IMHO, a door and a corner of the wall is equivilent to each other... which means they provide cover. Both of them tend to have the edge line up with the corner of the square. This gives most enemies sight on two corners of the squares to the sides of the door.
Windows and arrow slits are smaller than 1 square wide, and provide superior cover.
So, would I allow a PC to gain superior cover while sniping from the corner of a door? no.. because I stick with doors that are one square wide
I prefer to stick to allowing Rogues to pull this off, kinda like thier thing..., with Deft Strike.
I prefer not to grant superior cover to everyone hiding behind a door.
