Steve Carelle (sp?) To play Maxwell Smart

The Daily News (New Yorks Hometown Newspaper) had an article about Don's death on page 2 this morning. A sidebar within the article stated that Steve Carelle (The Office, 40 Year Old Virgin) will be playing Maxwell Smart in the 2006 release of Hollywoods version of Get Smart.

I cant find any mention of this online though, maybe someone else can. But I figured I'd post about it anyway...

Well, as a choice for Smart, Carell is pretty good.

I'd say his old Boss John Stewart might be better, he's already effectively incorporated a lot of Maxwellisims into his standard shtick on the Daily Show. But his voice isn't nearly grating enough.

Agreed, but I think Carell is still a great choice. Hopefully it won't be a piece of crap...I have fond memories of Get Smart, even though its before my time and I had to watch re-runs on Nick-at-Nite.
