Still two years to wait for Indiana Jones 4...

The Jones boys in China fighing to save the ancient artifacts before the People's Liberation Army destroys them all!!! Wait, that was the 60's... never mind.

The Jones boys in Russia fighting to save... wait, they didn't have anything cool to save. Never mind.

The Jones boys in Argentina fighting to restore stolen masterpiece paintings to their rightful... nah. That sucks.

Hrmmm... I'm going to wait and see on this one.

Maybe he will be searching for lost stolen objects in delapitated nursing homes. He and his father keep getting kicked out of their nursing home because of their crazy antics.

I hope this movie isn't made. It's going to be just like the Star Wars prequels-highly anticipated and highly sucky. I want to remember Indy as I saw him in the 80's, cool and tough as nails. I don't want to see Harrison Ford play him now, post mid-life crisis. If they want to make another one (please don't!), they should do it like the Bond films and find a different actor.

Set in the 50's? No way! Indy is a symbol of the 30's, when there were still mysterious places to be explored and before WWII made the world smaller.

Get a different actor, set it in the 20s, and give us some of Indy's early adventures!

Wasn't there an Indianna Jones computer/console game that took place mostly in China too? Seemed like a good concept...
The game you're thinking of is Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb which, while fun, was not a classic. Still, the game did a very good job of capturing the Indiana Jones feel (the makers of the game even managed to fit the Nazis in), and took players from Africa, to Europe, to the Middle-East, to China. Another nice touch was that the ending of the game set up Indy's meeting with Lao Che that we saw at the beginning of Temple of Doom (the game takes place before any of the movies). :)

Anyways, back to the main topic...

I, too, will be surprised if this movie actually gets made. Much like King Conan: Crown of Iron, this project seems to have been stuck in limbo for the last several years. I certainly wouldn't object to a fourth Indiana Jones film if it were done right, but I don't see it happening.

Yes there are many movies I would love to see that are just kind of out there. I think with the recent success of "National Treasure" and to a limited degree the "Tomb Raider" movies, I think it would be ripe to do, as long as it as great as the previous InJns movies.

The Seraph of Earth and Stone

How about the Jones Boys put the Shankara stones in the Ark of the Covenant so they can stop Kali from getting the Holy Grail to ressurect Hitler.

It practically writes itself.

Yeah, something in south or central America (plenty of Aztec, Maya , or Inca ruins) would probably be great. As for the artifact to recover, I can't guess, but it could be something unknown (at least to us westerners) like as in the Doomed Temple.

I don't believe it would be the Spear of Destiny because it doesn't involve archeological ruins to explore.

Now for villains, I must admit that having Indy fight against the nazis did look good. And of course, there were some nazi refugees in south America. However remember that nazis had to search for archeological artifacts because Hitler required it. But now that the nazi Germany is dead (I really don't think they would make a plot where Hitler is in fact still alive), ex nazis don't have time to waste in searching for Inca ruins.

But they could still be under belief that finding some powerful artifact could help bring them back to power.

I think surviving Nazis are the most likely villains. They're a very safe villain to use--there's nothing politically incorrect about portraying Nazis as bad guys. Whether Nazi bad guys are overcliched is another matter.

Alternatively they could go a route similar to that in Temple of Doom. Or, the bad guys could be gangsters.

I doubt they'll use communists as the bad guys. Too political.
