Stink in Ship's Towers

"That was the plan. It is always best to know the wishes and behaviour of the ...customers before they do." As the elevator rises up, the man continues. "Some part of your luggage holds interest to us. We would hope that you would be willing to part with that particular piece."

Kathan's eyes narrow.

" Look here. I've had enough fun for one day, in case you hadn't noticed the blood stains. If you be havin' somethin' you're looking for, quit beating around the bush and tell us what you want, and what you're willing to give in exchange. "

"Please. It should be obvious. I'm talking about your live luggage. We're offering 600." The man seems a bit surprised that you didn't seem to realize what he was talking about.

"Well, in that case, I must say my goodby." he says, taking something from his belt, and then jumps out of the elevator. Looking after the man, he seems to fall slowly enough to land safely.

Soon thereafter, leaving the elevator and taking a short walk, Kathan pays his hirelings and dismisses them, and returns to being Veyk. They reach the watch station without further incident, and are greeted by Kuros. "Seems you guys did it, alright. Yep, that's the Eel. What was it that I promised you, 1200, right? If you got any more business...?"

Veyk pauses a moment to think, scratching his blue whiskers with one hand, frowning slightly.

" A man was waiting for us when we arrived at the elevator, " he says, his voice neutral. " He offered us a sum of six hundred galifars if we would turn over the Eel to him. My good companion refused, and he left by way of air as we rose... "

Veyk retrieves the letter he recovered from the Eel's body, examing in again before saying, " I think he may have had something to do with this, " before handing over the letter to Kuros for the dwarf to read. " I would guess that this man we met was a member of the criminal underworld here in Sharn, but I do suppose that should be almost obvious. "

"I'd guess the guy who waited for you is just one of those angered by the Eel, but the letter's interesting. I'll have to pass it to my superiors, though. Should something arise from it, it might be important enough to get a few men off their cases, but in case we need outside help again, I know where to find ya. Well, here's the promised reward." He hands you a bag, heavy enough for the promised reward, then dismisses you.

(The action part is more or less concluded, and I'll post the XP rewards later. There's some stuff still to do for you guys (such as the distribution of the spoils, and examination where necessary). Though I fear that Kenn won't have too much of an active part in it unless brought to a House of Healing. ;))
