Kenn opens his mouth, then stops and looks even more evil than Kathan.
"Or do we offer to sell the Eel some valuable information...like, say, an..."

He goes to listen at the door, then opens it quickly, just in case anybody's in the hall.
Assuming not, he whispers in Kenn and Kathan's ear.

"confidential information that there's a bounty hunter upstairs after him. My partner and I" -he gestures to Kuther -- " will help him dispose of the bounty hunter for a nominal fee. He comes up with us, we sap him to heck and roll him up in a blanket. You "-- he gestures to Kathan -- "make like the Eel, we carry him out the back door, load him in a cab, and take off to send him to sleep with the sahuagin."
"Then we just drop him off at the police station."

He pauses.
"Somebody tell me if I'm getting a case of the clevers. Otherwise, let's check the window and see if we can see this boat."

Kathan chuckles, put quickly regains composure.

"I like that idea, " he says, " So let's get to it. "

He then goes through a nominal check of his weapons and gear, and opens the door to go back into the tavern.

(For clarification, there is no such thing as upstairs in the Cliff Crab. The windows in your rooms go out to the north and to the west. The window through which the beggar saw the Eel climb in was to the south of the building. I marked the two possible windows with a - on the map above. If any of this changes your plans...)

"Just so we know, which idea do you like, the boats or the "Save the Eel" campaign? It's not good for us to get lost in our own clever schemes. Particularly since Kathar hasn't done this before."

Considering the angles, Kathan whispers, " Save the Eel. The other plot I think raises questions with more incriminating answers. Like, ' How did you know to look for a boat? ' . "

"You want to sucker him up or me?"
Kenn pauses a moment to sketch an hourglass figure in the air and poke his companions in the ribs.

" I'll try it if you're not minding, " Kathan says, " I stick to the tried and true methods mostly, though. I find if you try too hard, sometimes you end up just blowing it. "
