After several nervous moments of waiting for Kenn to speak, Kathan decides to speak up.

" We heard you were carrying with you a disreputable fellow, a fellow we be wanting to do some ' business ' with, " he says. " His business ain't exactly on the up and up, but we've been told he gives good prices, and we be lookin' to make a transaction. "

[sblock=Bluff/Mood]
Obviously, the part about business is a bluff, but the part about the fellow is true. My intent is that hopefully the Captain will ask who we're looking for, feeling betrayed, but that if the Eel is listening, he will think we're interested. Of course, it could all go horribly wrong and we could die on the points of their cutlasses, but hey, why wait any longer? 16 as per the usual.

Ah, also, in the above moment I guess I should of taken a moment to assess the mood, so either I did, or I will at the next free round.

"As far as I'm aware, none of my crew are in such a business, and we don't have any passengers for this trip. If it is one of my crew, we might be able to work out whom you seek. I'd be very interested in that. Dusky! Get the crew on deck!" "Yesssir!" the half-orc answers with a slight hiss, and starts shouting orders.

" Thanks for your cooperating, Captain, " says Kathan, " The sooner we're done with this whole thing, the happier we'll all be. "

Quickly, Dusky brings out more crew members from under-deck, so that twenty men are on deck - Captain Pepper, Dusky, and eighteen crewmen, none of which look even remotely like the Eel.

Kathan rubs his chin, and his eyebrows furrow, adding a little dramatic flair to the moment. Slowly he makes his way from crewmember to crewmember, scrutinizing every detail, asking names and pausing every now and again as if to ponder some small detail.

When he is through, he glances through the crowd once again and announces, " I'm lookin' for a man know as the Eel, and someone among you is going to tell me where and how t' find him. "

[sblock=Sense Motive]
Man, I love Social Intuition. 16s all around! I pay especially close attention for reactions after my announcement.

Khuther goes near one of the sides of the ship trying to hear any splashes in the water, as he do he looks around to see if any crew member has not come on deck. 'Captain is all your crew present? No person you might have send on a shopping trip or something?'

Kenn closes his eyes and begins to step back through the day, trying to see and hear everything again in his mind. Something's tickling his memory.

Dusky called the crew up...
No.
Captain Pepper asked us our business...
No.
I climbed up on deck...
No.
Captain Pepper invited us aboard...
No.
Wait....

A guttural voice answers "But Captain, our sschedule ..."
A guttural voice with a hiss? Where has he heard that before?

The humanling talked with someone who had a guttural voice and whistled slightly when saying 's' words.

The person the Eel was working with!
Kenn laughs, low and challenging...and, if someone felt guilty, kind of intimidating.

Let's just make sure.

"If everyone would please state their name, rank aboard this vessel, and their place of birth, one at a time and in order?"

Kenn methodically goes down the line of sailors one at a time. If he needs to engage one of them in extra small talk to make sure he hears them pronounce the letter "s" once or twice.
Anyone with difficulty pronouncing their "s" sound or with a guttural voice gets asked to step forward.
Kenn expects Dusky will be stepping forward, and will make sure he's not the only one who does. He has one good shot at finding out the truth, and he wants to cut out as many people as possible before he fires it.
