Stinking badges!

seriously though, depends on when you get there. if you wait until later in the afternoon, for example, it's a lot better than at noon.

Well, that's something, anyway. If this happens, I likely wouldn't be getting there until after noon on Thursday, anyway.

Might be worth starting a thread in the GenCon forum. Maybe you can work something out with other people that didn't pre-register either -- a line-share group or something. Or at least someone to wait with in case you have to take a leak.

Wanted to get in on the questions here. I'm running some events for Goodman Games and... it's my first Gen Con. The Game Master badges are supposed to be at will call. Is there a separate line for GM badges and other related types or is it a matter of getting them all from a single window/kiosk/line? I'm not getting into Indy until around 8:00 PM on Wednesday (8/15). Would this be an optimum time to get my badge? Or should I try early Thursday morning? Problem with the latter is that my first even starts at 8:00 AM and I don't want to run the risk of arriving to my own game late (or not at all!).

We got our badges in the mail today. If you haven't gotten yours by, say, a week from today, call the Gen Con folks and find out what's what.

As for picking stuff up at Will Call, Wednesday night is MUCH BETTER than Thursday morning.

I seem to remember there being a separate line for GM badge pick-up last year.

I did will call for my badge last year and as I said, I went through Weds. at about 5:30 in the evening and it took me all of 2 minutes to pick up my badge packet at will call.
I think that's open until 9pm, but don't take that as gospel.

The 30 people long line was for those who had not registered at all. It seemed to move relatively quickly.

Don't panic!

Yeah, just to let you guys know, from the GC forums, it's quite clear that SOME people got their badges already, but it's not even a majority of the forumites there, so please don't worry. I actually wouldn't start to even think about worrying until probably the end of next week, say around the 3rd of August.

Also, yes, you pick up GM badges at GM HQ, that's a different booth completely. Last year, it was to the left of the info booth, if you're facing the info booth; I think this year it may be closer to the escalators to the Westin, but it should be right around there and well marked.

Honestly, it's a million, bajillion times easier to do Will Call for badges. You get a better quality badge holding neck-accoutrement as well as the safety of knowing that your badge will be on premise so you won't lose it.

But the lines always look so long for Will Call and the like... :( They appear to stretch out and wrap around corners, numbering in the hundreds of people. Of course, that could just be the registration line, but given a choice, I don't like standing in lines.

Plus, I like having my badge in my grubby little paws.

Looking Forward To It,
Flynn
