Stone Die Sets

Well given that you just like nice things, and these things are nice, get 'em.

What's the worst that happens? They are poorly weighted and you stop using them. You can still sit them on the game table and look at the shiny.

Cheers :)

I have a die set in jade, they are very nice and I never noticed if they are really flawed.

Jade (both jadeite and nephrite) is a very tough material. Although its hardness is low on the Mohs scale (6.5-7 for jadeite, 6-6.5 for nephrite), it's less likely to break from falling or being smashed than diamond, even.

Now I want a set of jade dice ...

I got all of my groomsmen precious stone dice as gifts at my wedding. They don't bring them to games, so I can't tell you how they roll. I haven't rolled my meteorite dice enough to tell you if they are super-random either. However, Crystal Caste also make metallic dice in brushed steel, brass- and copper- coated steel as well, and they are just fine. I use a giant brass d20 for my PFS characters' initiative dice (with no initiative mods, what you see is what you get, and there is NO doubt as to when or whether I've rolled!) and it's just fine.

I say get them, and don't worry what anyone says. The bling is worth it.

While I don't own any non-plastic dice, I have oogled the stone and metal dice from time to time...

And, if you are still looking for them, the only vendor I know of is Crystal Caste (their Dwarven Dice line).

Of course, you may have luck finding some at a good sized convention, like Gen Con.

Cheers!

Hey!

My wife grew up in Denver. Cool.

Anyway, the dice you were looking at are the dice made by Crystal Caste. Just go with the best price considering shipping.

The metal ones are loud when you roll them, but they make a pretty display.

Lol I'm actually from Illinois and moved to Denver about a year ago now. This is by far the best place I've lived.

Thanks, too, the other site has better prices and if they're by the same company then that's good. :3

Its amazing to me that I can get hand carved elephants, fish, horses, etc... carved from those stone materials that also have more total weight, for less than they ask for those dice.
