Stoned Familiars - Are They Dead or Alive?

Sadly, i didnt. :eek:

I came in because we were playing 2nd ed AGES ago and my cleric/Wizards familiar was turned to stone by a Gorgon. I was curious as if they really were dead or alive :D

But i guess a wizard with a talking Great Dane could calm a stoned familiar done with some sort of snack ...
