If a familiar gets turned to stone, does the master lose xp? If he does lose it, and the familiar is later restored, does he gain the xp back?

So, no. The master does not lose XP.

Until they eat all your rations and you actually have to use the starvation rules in the DMG.

As long as it is alive and within 1 mile of the familiar, the master gains those bonuses...
