Story Hours better than the actual game?

I go with the they are very different - my story hour is written from the POV of my character, which hopefully adds to things, but means that at times some action is missed (like when he's unconscious after nearly being killed) and may tend to play up his own qualities.

For the group I DM I do a story hour, but it is much more of a session recap with little dialogue and detail as I need to cover what happened when rather than write a fantasy novel, and I'm trying to encourage my players to write accounts of things which can incorporate that.

The jokes on you! I don't really have a campaign. My story hour is just a sinister attempt to get people to read my crappy fiction.

Wait, I don't have a story hour. Never Mind.

Story Hours are exciting in a different way. You cannot bring the fun of partaking in the game to the front, because the best what you'll do is a written account of that fun. On the other hand, downtimes, silly jokes and failed attempts at comedy get lost, so you likely end up with a more atmospheric desciption of the game.

I wouldn't say my SH, for example, to be extremely faithful to the game itself. It's a fun read, and it's a fun game, but while related, they're still different ponies.
