Either the dragon or the unknown middle, in all likelihood Maor muses. The humans or giants would have probably discovered the items and made use of them. Although if the man is crazy.... perhaps he guards the items.

As for the humans who live to the north, they are some kind of a tribe, using stones and sticks as weapons and tools, do no bother to look for adventure over there, as for the giants.
