Stranded - The Lost Group

A Passing Maniac

First Post
Malik's eyes widen in surprise at the sudden explosion of combat--the strangely-colored kobolds, his companions running, the appearance of giant crabs...

But the boy quickly gets a grip on himself, and focuses his mind on the huge and very close crustaceans grabbing at his kobold companion. The arcane words he mutters are quick, the gestures of his hand rapid, and in but a few seconds he holds a throbbing orb of silver energy, which he hurls at the crab grappling Wittgenstein.

[sblock=OOC]Force Orb against C1: 1d20+4 = 21 against the crab's Reflex defense. Assuming that is a hit, the attack deals 11 damage and explodes, allowing a secondary attack against C2's Reflex: 1d20+4 = 17. Assuming this is a hit, the second crab takes 13 damage.[/sblock]

Wittgenstein begins his advance, but sees the carapaces of the crabs emerging from the surf, and is distracted. One tightens its claws around his waist, but he remains confident as his spear smashes through the chitin.
"Looks like seafood for supper tonight" he boasts and struggles again to escape from a grab, and again smashes his spear down on the crab.

Rolls: 19 to escape; 20 next attack. He'll use cleave, for the chance of doing additional damage to the other one, if he or someone else should be adjacent.

rolls: http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1669800/

If possible or needed, Wittgenstein will shift (twice) to avoid being flanked by the crabs (with present positions that would be to T or S 13), but at present am only attacking the one (who is marked).

OOC: For what it's worth, I have no problems with you making any rolls for me if it speeds things along.

Seeing his companions rushing for the kobolds, only to have a pair of giant crabs focusing on their own kobold, Malik unleashes his arcane energies, detonating powerfull explosions on the sea-creatures.

Daniel, seeing the group now split up, moved up the beach, to be in range of both groups, before he calls forth a holy flame at the crab grabbing Wittgenstein. The flame sears the crab, and Daniel extends his blessings to Durvin, now fighting for his life.

The kobolds, now focused on the burly dwarf, moves into flanking position before focusing their attention at Durvin. Unable to dodge both the kobolds, one of their spears stabs viciously at the dwarf, wounding him.

O-Haril blew out a snorting puff of breath as he focused his attention upon the foes closest to him. He swung the massive crude clubs in each hand, trying to drive the oddly-colored kobolds down into the sand...

OOC: [sblock] If Durvin has not brought down one of the kobolds, use encounter power of Dire Wolverine Strike (close burst 1, one attack against each enemy in area, each attack is +5 vs. AC, 1d8+4 damage). If Durvin has put one of them down, then use at-will power of Twin Strike on the survivor (2 attacks, each +5 vs. AC, 1d8+4 damage). Either choice uses the same rolls (2 attacks at+5 vs. AC, 2 possible damage rolls at 1d8+4)- the only difference is the choice of targets. Attacks 22 and 9; damage 8 and 8; rolls http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1674487/ ; looks like one hit [/sblock]
