Add one raw egg and a spoonful of vanilla extract to what you've got. Then mix it in a blender until its all smooth and frothy. That'll get you something a lot closer to what you used to be able to buy in the malls.

Pbartender said:Do a Google search for "Cincinatti Chili".
It's fairly chili cooked without beans, but with a big spoonful of cinnamon and/or a big spoonful of cocoa powder mixed in. You serve it over spaghetti noodles, with chopped raw onions, kidney beans, shredded cheddar cheese, oyster crackers and hot pepper sauce (Tabasco or the like) on the side as "condiments" that you can layer on top, if you wish.
It's very tastey.

Yeah, I immediately thought of Skyline and Cincinatti Chili as well- both of which I think are gross. I like Skyline's buffalo chicken wraps though, it's pretty much the only thing on their menu I like.kenobi65 said:The moment I saw the title of this thread, I immediately thought of Skyline Chili. As a Cincinnati-area native, it is my regretful duty to inform you that you are a terrible person. When I went back home for Christmas last year, I ate sooo many coneys to make up for lost time. Oh, Los Angeles, you have so many foods - why no Cincy chili?!Aurora said:Yeah, I immediately thought of Skyline and Cincinatti Chili as well- both of which I think are gross. Am not! You're correct about Goetta though. There is a restraunt in KY just over the Ohio border that serves it and then one place in Cinci that serves it. I like goetta.Tewligan said:As a Cincinnati-area native, it is my regretful duty to inform you that you are a terrible person. That said, I also miss goetta - it's a fried German breakfast meat loaf thing that is apparently non-existent any further than an hour or so away from Cincinnati.
Yeah, there are a few restaurants in the area that serve it. A lot of Perkins restaurants served it, too - I assume they still do. You aren't talking about the Anchor Bar and Grill in Newport, KY, are you? Their goetta is so greasy and delicious...mmm. My mom mailed me a recipe for goetta recently, but I haven't gotten around to whipping up a batch yet.Aurora said:Am not! You're correct about Goetta though. As a Cinci native, I am not surprised you moved to the other side of the country. Why, OH WHY did I leave So Cal to move to SW OHIO!!! You must be the smart one since you did the opposite!
