Sidereal Knight
First Post
As my partner and I prepared to go to work this morning, we found a VERY young male puppy in our driveway. He's a cutie, a mixed-breed with ruddy fur and black highlights on the ears and tail, and he's going to be a BIG dog when he grows up. Very friendly, very much a puppy.
He was damp, but not wet enough to have been out all night during the rain. He had a flea collar, but no tags. A quick trip to our vet revealed what I suspected: no microchip.
Since I was already late for work, I ran home and secured him as best I could in the bathroom. We can't keep him -- we already have 4 cats in a smallish house, and my partner's allergic to dogs -- so I will have to take him to the Humane Society after work.
Now for the rant:
How can anyone be so irresponsible as to let a puppy (no more than 10 weeks old!) get out? I know microchipping is a bit expensive, and it's often done when an animal is neutered, but c'mon! Someone cared enough to get a flea collar... why the heck didn't someone spend $10.00 to buy a real collar and a tag?
There is a special place in Hell for people who mistreat animals.
*deep breath*
Ok, sorry about that.
Anyhow, if anyone can spare a few good thoughts, send them out to this little pup. He's a sweetheart who needs a good home.
