D&D 5E Strengthening Interception Fighting Style?

Although I'm sticking with 2014 rules, I'm adopting a small number of 2024 rules, including the buff to Protection style...which just showcases how underwhelming Interception style's scaling is. Sure, at lower levels it's fine, but at higher levels it falls way behind.

Anyone have any ideas to keep Interception style relevant for higher levels? I've considered maybe adding your level rather than proficiency bonus to the damage blocked, but even that might not be enough.

Personally:
When an ally within 15 feet of you is hit with an attack, you can use your Reaction to move to the nearest free adjacent space to your ally and reduce the damage by PBd6+CON. You need to holding a shield or a weapon to use this benefit, If you cannot reach an adjacent space the damage you reduce is halved.

basically this gives it a much greater catchment area as well as scalling the amount of damage it can block, the movement is IMO a zero-sum feature but is for the flavour
