D&D (2024) Suggestion: higher Standardarray instead of the additional +2/+1

It's necessicary with some players.

That blows my mind.

Although, I guess I could see if it was an AL game at a FLGS.

But, even so, as long as their top two stats make sense (or if they used 15,15,15,8,8,8) you know you're in the ballpark. If there's a 13 instead of a 10 somewhere will it really matter? I don't think I would even play if I felt like I had to police characters.

Yep. I ran a lot of AL precovid & you'd be shocked how often players come in with "mistakes" on their sheets, the attribs are probably the most common & impactful one since a third good stat or a good stat turned great is usually pretty big.

When players start getting creative with pointbuy & moving away from the standard away or taking half feats it gets bad. Toss in bonkers items like "strength=19 gauntlets are totally appropriate for a level 1-4 adventure" where wotc has made one of the six stats unknowable & it gets worse. With non-AL games I usually don't really look all that hard & mainly just look for obvious problems because I find the sheer act of doing that at the start & occasionally cuts down on white lies like that supreme potion of healing that seems to be available more often than they are found
