Giant lizard
Giant bug of some kind
A giant flying fish who speaks spanish for some reason.
A panda

A gelatinous cube.
What kind of things live in your underdark? What is the character like? You should come up with something to match.
Lots of bats in the underdark? Give him a giant bat.
Dwarven lumberjack? Log-rolls his way around on an amputee roper.

I'd say rust monster, but then it's stone weapons and leather armor for you.
The climbing lizard is a good idea, like Obi Wan in Ep 3.
What about some sort of Monstrous beetle?
There's an awesome Warhammer miniature of a dwarf king who is carried around on a shield by his honor guard. Maybe some sort of palanquin would be cool. It could be borne by some ancestor spirits (Celestial dwarves)
Then again, there was another warhammer mini that had the dwarf perched atop an enormous rolling anvil.
Blood Bowl had a dwarven steamroller that I always liked.
