Suggestions for a New DM

I agree that you should start at level 1 for now. When all of you are a little more experienced, you'll be able to handle grabbing a high level adventure off the rack and running with it, but right now it would be a disaster for all of you, I think.

I like the idea of having the 4th character be a group PC. It makes a great deal of sense, and will give everyone a taste of more than one character class.


Are you going to play 3.0 or 3.5 rules?

Best noOb DM advice I ever saw was...

Shoot one Player per hour until they recognize your authority.

Thanks to everyone for the advice.

We are planning to get together next Sunday, so I'll use that opportunity to run some of this past them. I also like the idea of a floating character. It should give the guys playing a chance with a character they would not have picked.
