Suggestions for epic level books?

ChimericDream

First Post
I've got the Epic Level Handbook from WotC and the Immortals Handbook: Epic Bestiary from Eternity Publishing. However, I'm looking for something somewhere in between. The ELH has quite a few good ideas, but I'm looking for more stuff in the 21-100 range, and the Epic Bestiary has just a few options at that level (and several others above ECL 1000....). I'm willing to go PDF or print, and it doesn't really matter whether it's WotC or 3rd party.

Any suggestions?

I thought the Epic Bestiary had quite a few good ideas for play between levels 21-100. The "Low Epic" and "Mid-epic" adventure ideas for the various monsters should all be within the range you're looking for.

If you want more epic monsters, Mongoose Publishing's Epic Monsters collects a lot from several Open Game sources, including Inner Circle Games's Legends of Avadnu.

There are a few epic adventures out there, such as Goodman Games's Dungeon Crawl Classics #33: Belly of the Great Beast, but most epic adventures are few and far between.

I should have the Immortals Handbook: Gods & Monsters for November. 160 pages (roughly 75 pages detailing various gods and the same number detailing monsters wholly derived from mythological sources: including the Drakainai, Gigantes, Typhon...I have a 90% list on the following link).

Hmmmm.... Apparently I was spending so much time trying to figure out just when in the world I'd ever use a CR 9721 creature that the rest of the stuff in there just got lost in the shuffle. I do like the book, though. Quite a bit, in fact. The only thing I don't think I'll use (other than the *really* high CR creatures) is the rules on virtual size categories. I haven't made quite that many changes to the size rules, and a lot of the creatures in the book assume that you're using those rules.

I definitely have to give you kudos for creating that book, though. Some really cool ideas in there. I'll also be looking forward to the next book in the series.

Well I outlined in the book as best I could why I advocate making those changes, but I guess you can't please all the people all the time.

Thanks. The text for Ascension is virtually complete and I am working on the art. Should be a June release for that pdf.

Uhhh.... A CR 9721? When the hell would anyone ever get a chance to use that?

Well, sometimes you want to challenge your PCs who are only 9,720th level... ;)

Well initially the Neutronium Golem was primarily an exercise in expanding the limits of what people perceived was possible both mechanically and philosophically.

I wanted to exponentially shift the 'goalposts' as it were.

I also wanted to create a monster that would really scare epic PCs. In that capacity its a kind of ultra-high level bogeyman.

Since the pdfs release I have come into contact with people who game at that sort of level (including one group who game above that level - I kid you not) as well as a few others who have indirectly used it in various capacities.

If effect, it is the "new tarrasque".
