Suggestions for wondrous items to craft?

Hi guys,
An Uberlurker here with a question. I've got a 6th level wizard with a little money, a little time, and a hot new feat burning a hole in his robes (Craft Wonder Items)...

Any suggestions for a wondrous item to create at 6th level or thereabouts?

Also -- what are your favorite wondrous items to craft in general (regardless of costs)?

I'll hang up now and listen... :D

What spells do you know? They are your most severe limit in crafting wonderous items.

Me, I love one-use wonderous items. Tokens, beads, dusts, whatever, I like stuff that does cool things and yet comes cheap. That, and anything that ends with "...of Wonder". :D

Salutations,

I am a fan of items that give skill bonuses.

Need to search? Put on goggles that give a search bonus.

Need to be diplomatic? Put on that rose pin that gives a diplomacy bonus.

Mmmm... craft wonderous item requires spellcaster level 3. Does that also mean that you can't make a wonderous item with less than spellcaster level 3? I recall a thread on the subject months ago, but...

Anyway, assuming that you can drop the spellcaster level to 1 if you want, an item that can cast any 0-level spell at will is relatively cheap. For 500 GP you can make yourself goggles that let you detect magic whenever you feel like it. And...

Argh. I've just had a flash of what a skilled rogue could do with an item that allows ray of frost at will.

The last one I created was a one charge per day Leomund's Tiny Hut gem.
We tend to loose our horses and equipment a lot.

In another campaign (long ago) I had created communication earrings, one for each member of the party. Nice too.

Does your PC have a theme? An ice-wizard, a charmer, a sneak, a summoner? I generally think it's fun to create items that express your PC's nature.

Before a desert adventure, I had a wizard give my PC's a "Everfull Waterskin" - they would always have something to drink in the desert.....
