Well, when you start stacking one rule 0 on top of another to balance a system that was already balanced these things happen frequently. My friend plays in a group where he lives and he complains about his DM not knowing the rules and always introducing rule 0's to balance things that were already balanced.

Well, your maths off a bit. Also, you can only apply one shield at a time, so no buckler and large shield. However, you can include Improved Expertise which would allow up to +8 expertise.

Damn, my math was off a lot. Okay, ditching the buckler but adding in the improved expertise, that's an AC of 57!!!!

Now that's kickass for no magic items.
