Summer Flicks!

So, after what I consider to be a very, very dry first third of 2003 for movie entertainment (possible exception: Daredevil), we're less than two weeks away from the beginning of the summer movie season. I'm sure most of us are looking forward to sci-fi features like Matrix Reloaded, The Hulk, and X-Men 2. What else coming out this summer is getting you goofy?

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is probably on a few lists.

Also, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl with Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom, and The League of Extrordinary Gentlemen as well.

I think those are three that I will be waiting to read reviews on before I fork over the cash & two hours of my life. Actually The Hulk is one of those, too. :) But then I'm a little picky...

Pirates, though, did look kinda spiffy from the trailer...

I think X2 will be the only one I will go to see as soon as it is released. All of them probably warrant a "big screen" viewing to really appreciate, but there's plenty of second run big screens in Chicago that will get them soon enough so the rest will depend on reviews for me as well. I had a blast a few weeks ago checking out SW: Attack of the Clones on the I-Max monster screen. I imagine that of this lot Matrix Reloaded might be the only one that would possibly get that treatment, though.

This summer will be good, but I think Return of the King is the movie 99% of people are really waiting for.

In addition to the usual suspects - X2, T3, Matrix2 and LXG, I'm looking forward to Pixar's Finding Nemo.

I'm kinda curious to see if these guys can keep up the energy they built with Monsters, Inc.
