True - when life as we know it already exists, it is very capable of filling niches in extreme conditions. But it takes more than just water to create living organisms in the first place, so who knows if the right conditions ever came together to allow some kind of life to even get its first toehold.

Most importantly with a red Sun, we wouldn't have to worry about Kryptonians and their superpowers. A "Super-Earth" indeed. ;)
