That is a lot of books!

Doesn’t seem long since folks were complaining 5e had a slow release schedule. Maybe not 😂😂😂
Remove all the adventure paths, settings and monster books and the list becomes MUCH shorter. The complaint was in the lack of things like feats, subclasses, magic items, spells, etc.

I have that tied with Explorer's Guide to Wildemount for me. Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft is also pretty high up there.
Rising from the Last War is great. But Curse of Strahd and Tomb of Annihilation have it beaten for me. The combination of world building and adventure in these books is the absolute sweet spot as far as I’m concerned. No other books have quite reached that.

Maybe your complaint, but I remember the release schedule itself being an issue. It’s not a big deal. Just a throw away comment.

Oh the old beast master is weak, yeah. But, there's a difference between complex and complicated.

Giving up your own attack is pretty clearly terrible. The new beast master pets contrast with the new summons in several ways: They're always around (usually), share your turn, and require no concentration, whereas the summons require an action, always act after you, and require concentration to keep around. With all the pluses for the beast master, I guess there had to be some offsetting cost, but it still seems weird that you have to keep giving the same order turn after turn; you'd think a beast would keep attacking its target until told otherwise! But sensible things often crash hard against game rules. On the other hand, a beast master ranger could cast a summon spell and have two pets commanded in their different ways.
That's true, having two different rules for things might confuse some people.

Personally, i don't care much if a spell has specific rules that differ from the general rules for things. But it would be more elegant if all "summons and pets" used a bonus action for command.
I understand your point about the RP of keep commanding your pet, but like you said, when rules and flavor crash, usually the best way is to go for better rules. =(

There is even some differences between the new and old summoning spells... so it may confuse people.
What you think are the best wording/rules of the summoning spells? And what you think is the best one taking into account its strength and level?

Looks cool.

Top 5e book for me would be Eberron: Rising From The Last War
Eberron was the first scenario I played a 1-20 campaign. It is really amazing scenario

It was a "throw away comment" that misrepresented an entire side. The vast majority of us are arguing that the very slow release of crunch(and I shouldn't have included monster books in my prior list) is the issue. There might have been one or two arguing that the general release schedule is slow, but I've never seen that in a thread on the topic.

I think I entered the contest - but I am not sure! Regardless, it seems like a very interesting project with a lot of heavy hitters in the RPG industry involved.
I agree, I was very surprised when I saw Greenwood involved. Forgotten Realms will always be the best thing that ever happened in my life, I think the moments I had as a player in that world made me who I am outside of it. I will definitely keep an eye on Tanares.
