I was wondering how many people out there do d20 superhero games and which systems. I am partial to Deeds Not Words myself. I would also like to use this thread as a way for people to brainstorm ideas to help one another in their endevors.

I myself am having trouble in naming some characters and could use help.

1: A female ferret lycanthrope. Created through an accident.

2: A male rouge/tomb raider type who now is working for an Egyptian god that he tried to rip off.

For D20 Modern, I use Blood and Vigilance.
Super easy, super fun, super heroes. :)
In fact... we'll be playing that, tomorrow night.

One of the things I really like about it is that the origins are basically templates to be slapped onto the character.
For instance... I'm creating a Dragonblooded (from Urban Arcana) with the Mutant Origin...
Should be fun, and interesting. :)

Ferret Lycanthrope, accident... Farrah, obviously. :)
Male rogue/Tomb Raider working for an Egyptian God... ... Screwed? :)

Well although it's been used before in Marvel Comics... what about "Feral"? If you want to change it a bit, you can always make it "Ferral"...

2: A male rouge/tomb raider type who now is working for an Egyptian god that he tried to rip off.

Uhm... Slave?

What kind of names do you like? More corny or..? Give some examples from existing characters...

Personally, I'd just call her Ferret.

Kharis? (The name of the Mummy from the Hammer films version of "The Mummy" from the late 50s...a guy who was cursed for blasphemy, and now has to serve the god he pissed off)

Or just call him Scarab, and give him the whole Egyptian beetle motif...maybe they call him Scarab because scarabs are the "littlest thieves of the tombs", making off with bits of flesh, etc.

Names

The names I use are not as tounge and cheek. I like the suggestions for Kharis. That'll work I think. His big thing is that he is a tomb robber. One day he entered the tomb of the god Chons (or Khons, Khonsu or Khonshu depending on translation) and attempted to rob the place. Chons thought that this guy had the round and hairys to do this and the brains to figure out his traps that he should get this guy on his side. He gave him an deal. In the tomb Chons could snap his fingers and kill him. Work for him and he wouldn't do it. Outside the tomb his power is signifigantly less but he could still kill him. The thief agreed and Chons invested some of his might into him. The birth of a hero.

As far as for the were-ferret, she was an eco-terrorist that was on a raid to realese lab animals. The gov't was experimenting with inducing lycanthropy for military purposes. A ferret bit her when she was trying to get it out of the cage. She now can will herself to transform to a anthromorphic ferret.

Deeds Not Words?

Blood and Vigilance?

Who makes those?

I know Foundation, Silver Age Sentinels D20 and Mutants & Masterminds. I understand that Aberrant & Brave New World are going to be released in D20 soon as well.

Games

Deeds Not Words my friend is the greatest d20 superheroe RPG of all time. It is so adaptable and made by Cryptosnark games. It costs very little...for all three books that are out. Also when you purchase any book, you get FREE lifetime updates of the books you buy. Meaning when a new printing comes out...you get a copy of it. Each book is a .pdf file so printing a paper copy is up to you.

I use M&M. As for names, I know you're not partial to tongue in cheek, but how about "Ratcatcher"? That's what ferrets were employed for -- catching rats -- and she's an eco-terrorist, fighting the corporate and government rats who are trying to screw over the world, right?
