It's not a bad thing, cutting down continuity. I'd have done it differently, though. I think launching the Reboot is all well and good, but having a major event to kick things off would have been nice: a maxi-series like The New Frontier could have been helpful, then launch the individual 52 titles from there. Instead they launched all the titles, and now are going to scamper to put things together again. I dunno, there's something about the mass market Comics world of DC that seems... tacky? Kitch? Created without a sense of style or as part of a larger whole. The New Frontier and a lot of other Elseworlds (the Nail by Alan Davis is one of my favorites) have that sense of oneness that works, and makes me want to read more. Otherwise most normal-continuity comics (of either big house) tend to turn me off, if they can't produce that sense of being a complete story.

Well, expecting it to make sense according to physical laws is asking for falure. it doesn't.

But I'd put forward that his abilities are telekinetic in nature. He doesn't really know this, and it's controlled by his subconscious and thus only manifests instinctively (when he's lifting something, or flying, or when he's hit by something) but he's effectively telekinetically hurling himself through the air.

TK explains how he can swing a car around by the bumper, and the bumper doesnt just come off.
