Support for Classes and Races...How wil it be done?

Okay, so I remember when people claimed that the structure of 4e would cut down on the numerous races, powers and classes spread throughout different splatbooks. Yet allready, we have the FRPG coming up with numerous races and at least one new class. My question is how will the races along with the Swordmage (and any other class that might be in the FRPG) be supported?

I mean will this be it for the Swordmage? As well as the racial feats for the included races? Or will there be space devoted to these races and classes in the generic books, even though those not interested in the FR may not have these races and classes...or, another thought, will the only support material be available through the DDI? I'm curious, as it may affect my purchasing choices (if I continue with 4e). If anyone has any facts as far as this is concerned. Though I welcome comments and thoughts about this as well.

Not quite.

They said that new classes and races would be primarily introduced in the PHBs, and that campaign settings would get specific races and classes for the settings (as the FRPG demonstrates).

Powers, feats, magic items, and such were never stated to be limited to any specific books.

Yet allready, we have the FRPG coming up with numerous races and at least one new class.

As I stated, this was made clear.

And is two races, one of which is mostly written up in the MM already, really "numerous?"

D&D Insider, as they have stated before.

Dragon #367. Class Act: Swordmage.

As well as the racial feats for the included races?

I'd assume that the FRPG has racial feats for the drow and genasi (we have seen genasi ones). Additional feats beyond that would be covered on D&D Insider (as seen in the Ecology of the Genasi article).

Little Raven...sheesh lighten up already. Is any question concerning 4e an attack in your eyes now? I'm not going to debate about what was said (and for the record I was talking moreso about posters here than anything official.) and I'm not going to argue semantics of "numerous". The funny thing is your answer totally contradicts the one given below it. Is the actual answer to my question hearsay or what was actually stated?

They said that new classes and races would be primarily introduced in the PHBs, and that campaign settings would get specific races and classes for the settings (as the FRPG demonstrates).

However, I'm pretty sure they have said any races and classes in campaign setting material was going to be designed in a way that makes them usable in any setting, not just the specific setting they were introduced in. They are supposed to be added to the compendium and considered just as "core" as the PHB classes and races.

Along with the supplemental books, there is supposed to be occasional supplemental material for any classes and races that WoTC introduces (irregardless of setting) in Dragon, and also added to the compendium (essentially making everything "core" material).

While LR's responses did seem short, "large indefinite number" and "two" do seem worlds apart. :)

You know what, you're right. I may have overstated it and I think I was more irritated with Little Raven's tone than his actual point, that I wasn't willing to man up to the overstatement. So for that I apologize.
