Do they cancel each other? If I used Sure Strike with the Power Attack feat would I essentially make a STR vs. AC attack and get the +2 or 3 to damage?
I can't see any reason for a ranger to take Careful Attack, but Sure Strike has at least one use: If you also have Heavy Blade Opportunity (not too unlikely, since heavy blades are sure to be a popular choice), Sure Strike is a good way to help make sure you hit with your opportunity attacks to trigger the stop-movement effect.Minigiant said:Power attack and minion smashing are the only reasons to take either at will at the moment. Not good reasons though.

And for fighters, Sure Strike is the best anti-minion option, since they don't have an alternative like Twin Strike.

Cleave doesn't guarantee that you'll kill one of the two minions you're attacking; the extra damage to the second target only happens on a hit. It's all or nothing.Stalker0 said:And cleave is far better than sure strike at killing minions, the fighter is guaranteed to kill one of the two minions he's attacking, and will likely kill the other.
