My original 2E group got broken up during the post-college osmosis phenomenon that happens when everyone graduates. One guy in the reserves got deployed overseas. Another bought a house that apparently came with a fiancee and a computer that would only boot directly to EverQuest. Our dwarf headed off with a wife and a kid.
We straggled through with patchwork groups once 3E was introduced. The only other original member got married, and then so did I. (I was a groomsman for him, he best-man'd for me) Then he up and moved to Southern California. *sigh*
So goes MY tale of woe. Not a DM in sight, and those hazy memories of our "glorious" past gaming makes it hard to want to try and find a new group. So it goes...
Columbia, Missouri... good, mature gamers who like a good mix of role-playing munchkin-ized hacknslash with soul? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
