Survey Respondents Requested

Bardsandsages

First Post
Bards and Sages has begun planning its 2006-2007 product schedule for the Neiyar: Land of Heaven and the Abyss campaign setting and is seeking participants for a survey to better develop supplements for the setting.

The first 100 respondents will have the chance to enter a drawing to win a free PDF from the Bards and Sages catalog of products. Familiarity with the setting is not a requirement for the survey. We are simply looking for feedback on some of the original concepts we have worked into the book (such as Hearth Magic and flaws)

Are you getting many people agreeing to receive marketing e-mail in return for a possibility to win a PDF?

Some of the questions seem very specifically limited and it makes me wonder if that was really what you meant. However I've answered the questions as asked, as best I can.

I took the survey...:)

Very good idea to get feedback so you can get an idea of what direction to take the line in. The survey is designed in such a way that gives me (and others that take it) an introduction to the setting.

I'd suggest changing the name "neiyar" to something different. The name looks/sounds like "nyah", the sound people make when they stick out their tongues and hold their fingers up to their ears, waggling them like antlers at you... It's like AEG's Warriors of the Accordlands sounds like Warriors of the Accordions to many, conjuring up images of "Weird" Al Yankovic in a viking helmet playing his accordion.

I don't mind Neiyar, but "Land of Heaven and the Abyss" is very awkward. It sounds like someone in marketing is trying to say "Heaven and Hell" without actually saying it. It's long and doesn't flow very well.

Cheers

You can win the PDF regardless of whether or not you want the newsletter. One has nothing to do with the other. If folks sign up for the newsletter (and yes, many have) that's wonderful, and once a month they will hear from me. If not, they won't hear from me unless they win. I'm one of the most anti-spam people in the world, I think, and if someone doesn't want my e-mails, I don't want to bother them.

"Heaven and the Abyss"==This refers to the fact that most of the gods of the setting are part demon, so there was a logic behind it. :)
