D&D 5E Survivor 5e Plants - Shambling mound composts the competition!

I am actually curious - why do people like Assassin Vine? I feel like Treant is a pretty clear choice, because Treebeard was an awesome character in LotR. Shambling Mounds = Swamp Thing, and he's pretty awesome post Alan Moore.

Shrieker just looks like it's been ignored, and so doesn't really move much. Probably because of all the up-down against and for other plants. I was surprised that it didn't get the same down-voting that the other fungi did frankly...

Maybe GMs like using Assassin vines in their adventures? But that's the only reason I can see voting for it. Not really understanding the love for it...
I think some people are assuming (hoping?) that if they can off-vote one of the more popular plants from the list, its fans will be forced to vote for their own favorite. History teaches otherwise, but...well, you know how people are.

I think the treant is great, as an NPC or Ally. Maybe I was heavily influenced by LotR's when I was young, but I tend to see them as friendly, or neutral at least.

For monsters, it's hard to beat the shambling mound or assassin vine.

@Harzel, on the other hand, need to go sit over the other side of the pub, next to all the other AV jerseys. This here is Mound country. Listen to our warcry: It's a bloody shambles!! Shamble shamble shamble!! Ole, ole ole ole
